Client Background
Type: Leading domestic manufacturer of electronic dry film (photoresist) for PCB industry
Annual output: ~80 million square meters
Previous packaging: Standard anti-static PE bags + carton boxes
Challenge
Insufficient light blocking: Transparent anti-static film had ~85% transmittance, causing edge exposure and degradation of dry film during storage, resulting in 3–5% monthly scrap.
Unstable ESD protection: Surface resistivity of “anti-static” films varied greatly; some batches exceeded 10¹²Ω, failing internal ESD standards.
Cleanliness complaints: Particulate contamination on film surface led to downstream PCB quality issues.
Multiple supplier attempts: Three previous suppliers could not meet all three criteria simultaneously, causing annual losses of ~RMB 2 million.
Solution
A dedicated technical team worked with the client’s R&D department. After three formulation iterations and two trial runs, we delivered:
3-layer co-extruded opaque anti-static film: Outer white PE (printable), middle layer with high-concentration carbon black (100% opacity), inner low-extractable anti-static PE (surface resistivity 10¹⁰–10¹¹Ω).
Cleanroom production: Blown, slit, and packaged in a Class 100,000 clean workshop; every roll passed particle count inspection.
Precision sizing: Width tolerance ±1mm to fit client’s automated cutting equipment.
Results (Quantified)
Dry film scrap due to light exposure dropped from 3.5% to 0.2% (94% reduction)
Overall packaging costs reduced by 7% (due to lower unit price and fewer rejects)
Zero quality complaints for 36 consecutive months
Designated as the sole approved PE film supplier under an annual framework agreement
Client Testimonial
“This supplier truly understands our process. They didn’t just sell film – they solved a long-standing yield problem. Their responsiveness and quality control are unmatched.” – Purchasing Director
